I’ve Been Busy

Yes, I’ve been very busy revamping a program that I created back in 2019 called Connect With Your Daughter.  As I launched the program and took families through the work, I learned so much and decided that I needed to make some changes.

I wanted to offer something that parents could learn from, even if their teen was unwilling to participate.  In an effort to reach all parents struggling with connecting to their teens we redesigned the program and gave it a new name “Raising Emotionally Savvy Teens.”

This Was Quite a Journey

During my first go with this program, I quickly learned that the marketing company I had spent a small fortune with was not going to help me build the program, but was going to require that I watch videos and then somehow follow their directions…kind of like paint by numbers yet a lot more complicated.

Really…this non tech savvy clinical therapist was going to miraculously build the back end of a new website, create, record, and edit videos, as well as build a complicated CRM email marketing platform attached to marketing funnels and sales videos.

After a lot of struggle, and I might add some choice words…I trucked through and produced a product that was good, but that I knew would require some revamping once I collected data and got feedback.  I even learned how to create marketing funnels and run Facebook Ads, etc.

Not Sustainable

After spending a ton of money and inundating my schedule with an enormous amount of people wanting to schedule a free “strategy planning” (i.e. sales call), I learned something else. Most of the people who booked into my calendar never showed up for their “free call” so I blocked out time away from my family and said No to many things only to be sitting in a virtual waiting room alone.

I didn’t have the time, nor the energy, to manage a full-time private practice and then waste my time making long drawn out sales calls with people who weren’t ready to commit the resources and time into making change.

Version 2.0

So here’s what had to happen in the background before making this new version happen.  I hired an amazing  business coach who had me hire a Virtual Assistant…who is by the way, worth her weight in Gold!  Without Alison, I couldn’t do what I did.

I took the existing program, redesigned the modules, added new content, and renamed the program Raising Emotionally Savvy Teens, so parents could take the program alone, or in tandem with their teen.

The end result is a fantastic 10 module learning tool combined with Ten – 60 minute coaching sessions that mirror the modules, and help parents and or teens navigate through their own emotional stuck points that get in the way of them having effective conversations and building connections.
