About

Authentic Gains is about owning, speaking and releasing the truth of your story. It requires you to acknowledge where you are and decide you don’t want to be there anymore.

Warm Welcome

When you walk through the door, expect to be greeted with calming infused oils, joyful colors, and reclaimed wood which embraces play, creativity, and imperfection.

What do you need to give yourself permission for? What do you need to let go of to do this work? Grab a post-it and take a moment to be mindful of your fears, stress, etc. Then write yourself a permission slip and drop it in the lantern, which represents light for your journey.

Grab some coffee or herbal tea and settle into my cozy couch or group room. Leave the outside world at the door and enter this safe haven, where your authentic self can show up and be seen. Release all cares and slowly remove the protective mask.

Authentic Gains Idaho has a physical office at 172 S. Academy Ave, Suite 150, Eagle Idaho 8361

What You Can Expect

Oh, it’s not going to be perfect! There are No Right Answers! Just a messy walk through your story and the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep you locked in a vicious cycle you can no longer bear.

There will be laughter, likely some tears, and, most importantly, an overwhelming feeling of empathy and understanding. Open yourself up for connection, self-compassion, and the opportunity to experience true acceptance for what it means to Be Enough.

It’s Your Story…

Remove any stigma or preconceived beliefs about therapy being for those who are weak. Growth happens when we are vulnerable enough to admit what’s not working. I offer a combination of humorous videos, psycho-education, and a process of integrating thoughts, emotions, and behaviors into a wholehearted, living practice.

It’s your story… So let’s jump into it. Own it… All of it! Shame can only survive in secrecy. It loses its power when we speak it authentically. Once it moves from your head to your heart and then to your hands… the process of letting go begins. It’s the bravest and most freeing practice of authenticity you will ever do.

You’ve come this far so something about this message has spoken to you. Like you, perhaps, I was captivated several years ago by Brené Brown’s work. When I watched her TED Talk, I immediately felt understood and could laugh with her as she walked through her own stories because my story was parallel in so many ways. “I wasn’t alone.” “I was enough.”

About Gina

So, I’d like to tell you I have it all together and that once you learn these skills you will forever be cured of your quest for perfection. But you know that’s not real. Today I define myself as an “Insightful Recovering Perfectionist” who has learned a lot about letting go.

I know I need to stay embraced in a daily practice of mindfulness and never veer away from my values which light the way. I live and teach by example. It’s a lifelong process.

I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 2 decades and I have spent the past 25 years of my career helping individuals and families learn to adapt and cope with difficult life transitions.

I am the creator of Combating Teen Anxiety; my proven 10-step method to reduce teen anxiety and give teens the skills to manage their emotions so that they can succeed in their future goals.  I created a parent and teen communication journal designed to give teens the language and tools to express themselves with their parents when conversations are difficult to discuss in person.

In addition to this journal and working with people in my private practice through online training programs, virtual coaching nationwide, and in person and online psychotherapy in California and Idaho, I also offer corporate workshops and keynote speaking. My expertise is in teaching teens and adults to catch their anxiety before it gets out of control, and to practice owning, speaking, and releasing their emotions in a more productive way.

As a Certified EMDR Therapist, my specialized training helps decrease client’s negative beliefs that fuel their anxiety, and provide them with a new perspective. My experience as a Certified Daring Way Facilitator™ encourages clients to embrace vulnerability as a necessary step for shame resilience and connection.

My clinical expertise combined with my personal journey raising 3 kids through their challenges and my son’s gender transition, is what really helps me connect on a deeper level and transform the lives of my clients. When I’m not helping others, I love adventuring in the great outdoors with family and friends.

About Myles

Myles Nelson

Hello, my name is Myles Nelson, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker who specializes in working with teens, families, groups, and adults. As someone who has struggled with depression, anxiety, and the impact of addiction, I feel very strongly about helping others navigate these challenges in their lives.

I have spent the last six years dedicating my time to furthering my education and knowledge in the social work field through in depth experiences in inpatient mental health, residential treatment centers, and outpatient therapy services. I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a masters in Social Work and a specialization in clinical mental health and addictions.

I love helping clients mitigate the occurrences of mental health symptoms that interfere with their quality of life. I am particularly passionate about helping teens and families with LGBTQ+ related issues, substance use disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more.

When I’m not helping others, I love to watch softball, soccer, and football. I also spend time with my fiancée and our two rescue dogs. There is never a dull moment!
